The South Padre Island Birding and Nature Center
has over 43 acres 0f freshwater ponds, saltwater marshes and 4,800 feet of bay-view boardwalk. Also 7 bird blinds,
and a 5 story tower with fantastic views of the
surrounding Laguna Madre and beaches.
Using a recent $375,000 grant the center added water
features, a theater, large porch, Butterfly garden,
sunset views, meeting rooms and a beautifull gift shop.

There is nothing quite like the beauty of the wetlands and
Laguna Madre. With guided birdwalks, evening nature programs,
field trips, and educational format, it is a haven for "Winter Texans",
Children, and school field trips. Visitors come from all over the world to visit. My experience was most pleasant and enjoyable.
